Site Stuff

Okay, I’ve been kind of lazy lately, but at least I’ve been posting something, right?

You probably all know by now that I’m one person, and I do this as a hobby.  I don’t get paid for doing the site (though you can support it by donating or purchasing through an affiliate link), so I do have a full time job.  On top of that, I do have another blog, a photography business, plus all the regular household things like everyone else has.  It’s not just that money is at a premium, but time is.

I love keeping the site going, but I need to work to have the money to pay the bills, and that takes time away from updates.  I do have some things I want to do, but I would also like to see different perspectives.  Due to time constraints, I’m currently considering taking on guest contributors.  If you might be interested in writing an article (or submitting original artwork of any kind), please contact me using the form below.  You would certainly be credited for your work, along with a link back to your site if you have one.

If you have any content suggestions, please feel free to submit them using the form below as well, or in the comments section below.

Thanks in advance!

Off Topic – The Site

I know I often post a bunch of things in a row and sometimes I can go days without posting a thing.  I also don’t have a ton of original content, and I don’t get anything before anyone else – no press packs, or any of that jazz.  To the haters (yep, I get hate messages) I need to point something out:

I have a life.  It doesn’t always revolve around this site.  (On a site note, you can expect this place to be deserted around Christmas break.)

I have a family, friends, a full time job, responsibilities, hobbies, am the sole owner of this site and I don’t get paid for running it.

So cut me a little slack, okay?

I love Doctor Who, I really do.  Yes, my life kind of revolves around it… but not completely.  If I could find a way to make some money off of this (donations, etc.) then maybe I could spend more time doing this and less working a real job… but lets be realistic here.  So if you love the site, show your support.  Comment, share, spread the love.  If you don’t, please feel free to look at other sites instead of insulting mine.  I’ve got no issues with people voicing their opinions respectfully, but name calling and personal attacks are uncalled for.

And if you ARE a fan of the site, this little rant wasn’t directed at you.  The tons of you that do visit and share are awesome!

I’ve been away for a couple days, and it amazes me how many spam comments people try to post here.  I came back to about 300 messages to review.  So, if I accidently deleted a comment you submitted (a real one) please feel free to resubmit it.  If I deleted a comment that wasn’t really a comment on the post, please feel free to beat your computer with a sledgehammer because you don’t deserve to own one.

That is all.

By the way, I just wanted to mention something.  Yesterday we had an all time high number of visitors!  Thank you very much!

On A Personal Note…

My grandfather died today.  For various reasons I’m not able to head home until tomorrow (but I still need to pack), from which time you probably won’t see much in the way of posts from me.  I’ll be busy with family stuff and that sort of thing.

“Life is pleasant.  Death is peaceful.  It’s the transition that’s troublesome.” – Isaac Asimov

Don’t feel too bad when you read this.  He was well into his 80s and this isn’t a surprise for us.  Besides – I’ll see him again someday, of course, when the Doctor asks me where I’d like to visit (I’ll go see him when he was young).  I won’t interfere with things because I know how messy time travel can be.  If I can’t (due to some fixed point in time or something) just remember:

I’m Back!

How I’ve missed posting on my little blog 🙂

I’ve been travelling on vacation the last week, which is why you haven’t seen any new posts.  I’ll be putting up some more goodies soon, but I also have to unpack, do laundry and so on.  I’m also starting work in a couple days (my entire office was downsized into oblivion a little over 4 months ago) so there will be an adjustment period.  Plus I tend not to be as active online in the summer anyway.  SO, please bear with me during the transition period!
