I just finished watching the classic 2nd Doctor story The Tomb of the Cybermen. Of course the Doctor and his companions (Victoria and Jamie) wind up in a dangerous place… The Tomb of the Cybermen, which isn’t as dead as one might hope.
The story of course has many issues, like the fact the Cybermen locked themselves in a freezer with “no way out” yet the walls seem to be made of plastic wrap.
Overall though, the story is well executed and quite brilliant. We are talking about a story from 1967, so keep that in mind. Yes, that does mean it’s in black and white, for all you NuWho fans out there. Although I remember the monsters being more impressive in my younger days. Perhaps because we didn’t have the special effects that we have now.
Up until some new episodes were discovered last year, this was the first serial involving Patrick Troughton which survived in its entirety.
I’d love to hear what you all thought of the episode!
